Mid-Century Modern Heron

Reaching its beak to the sky, our heron sculpture is the perfect example of how we strive to strip away all the “noise” from our products, leaving only the most essential, beautiful, and simple elements. The wooden heron is a great gift, but like many of our decor products, you’re going to want one for yourself. It’s available in two styles. The simplest is the walnut face, where we carve the heron shape into Baltic birch layers that are veneered in walnut. The more dynamic sculpture is the “edge” face, where we’ve layered the Baltic birch and turned it on its side. This version seems to almost lengthen the bird, and when viewing it straight on from the front or back, ripples in the layers of birch appear and give a forward and upward momentum to the piece. Finished in oil and wax.
