Large Display Pedestal
Wood Pedestal
Created by
Craig Demmon
This striking pedestal is created from large-dimension timber that has been angle cut on each face, showcasing the story of the tree and its dramatic life cycle.
It is handcrafted from solid beetle-kill pine, wood which has been harvested from standing dead timber and hand-picked for its unique color and character.
The artist uses simple traditional exposed joinery methods to construct the piece. Natural cracks in the wood are stabilized with cherry wood butterfly joints and filled with colored epoxy for further artistry. Epoxy-filled accents vary and can be customized upon request.
