Divide Glass Top Console Table
Wood Console Table
Created by
Craig Demmon
This striking table is inspired by the sheared stone outcroppings of the Continental Divide. It is handcrafted from solid beetle-kill pine, designed with clean, sculptural lines that highlight the wood's distinctive color and grain patterns. Natural cracks in the wood are stabilized with wenge wood butterfly joints and filled with indigo-blue epoxy for further artistry. The legs are created by splitting a single 12" X 12" timber on the diagonal. The artist uses simple traditional exposed joinery methods in all of his work; this piece includes a single crossbar dovetailed to each leg to tie them together. The mass of the legs stabilizes the entire piece. The top is 0.5" tempered glass with polished beveled edges. It is held above the wood with satin-finish stainless steel posts. The glass is shipped loose but is easily installed without tools.
