The artist uses champleve enamel techniques to create this pendant of hand-fabricated and cast sterling silver. The enamel is inlaid and fired several times in a kiln, building up multiple fine layers to achieve a rich coloration. After firing is complete, the enamel is ground off the exposed sterling silver, which is oxidized, steel brushed, and rubbed with pumice. The enamel is etched to a matte finish. 18" sterling silver snake chain.

Jewelry designer Carly Wright has worked with stone, both as inspiration for her organic, contemporary jewelry, and also as a stone mason. The ancient layers and crevasses of sedimentary rock provide endless inspiration and impart serenity to her work, as does the laying of stone upon stone to form an architecture in the landscape.

Wright uses the enameling technique of champleve, firing fine granules of glass into recessed areas that are created with layers of sterling silver. Each piece is fired from 3 to 30 times in a kiln and ground smooth. The sterling silver is oxidized and steel brushed. Her enamel surfaces are etched to a soft matte finish.

She received a B.F.A. degree from Empire State College and continued with additional studies focused on the art of enameling at the Penland School of Crafts.

LOVE THIS NECKLACE!

This necklace is exactly as pictured and I'm so pleased! It is light weight and the snake chain is one of my favorite designs. I've bought many pieces from this artist and I'm confident I'll be purchasing more, either for me or as gifts for loved ones!

a bit smaller and less imposing than i had hoped

i will wear it on a chain with nice tee shirts. it is very pretty, just a bit too small for me. i will still enjoy it.
the colors and details are just lovely and so different from most jewelry. Much effort and originality went
into this necklace. i love Carly Wright's work and in the future I will make sure to purchase items that are
a bit larger and therefore more in line with my height.

I obsessed over which of these Carly Wight designs to get, as they all look so kicky online, but chose this one finally and am so pleased with it! The piece is finely done with wonderful colors that I've found I can wear it with many things. I bought some matching earrings at the same time and they are perfect together! The snake chain is fine, but I wish there had been an option for a longer chain.
