Landing 2

This work is from the artist's new abstract "Landing Series" which is influenced by the beautiful natural surroundings of the Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts and her winter studio is in a small fishing village in Puerto Rico where she take long swims in between painting sessions about three times a day.

This series represents a "Landing" of her painting practice in intensive daily studio investigation after teaching in academia for 36 years. Bradley is totally concentrated on painting. Through the transformation of materials in the studio she continually strives to move the work to higher levels of contemplation and physicality.

This series shifts her painting format back to canvas after working mainly on birch panel and non-traditional surfaces for many years. The edges of the painting show the process of the painting.
