Inspired by her love of Asian abstract watercolor paintings of nature, the artist took to the pine forests of the Pacific Northwest when creating this energetic oil painting.

Wide expanses of color are juxtaposed against more delicate, gestural brushwork, and looking deeper reveals layers of opaque and glazed paint with intentional drips incorporated into the composition.
