JRA Carson Mantel Clock
Metal Clock
Created by
Jacob Rogers Art
Crafted from acid-etched aluminum and curly maple, this tabletop clock is wrapped in a nature-inspired motif of ferns, insects, and dragonflies. Each scene is hand painted onto the aluminum with acid-resistant paint, and the painted metal is submerged in acid until the artwork remains in high relief. The paint is removed, and the metal is hand finished with saws, files, and buffing.
The metal carries the numerals 12, 3, and 6, and the curly maple has inlaid dots that designate the numbers 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11. The mechanism runs on a Seiko quartz clockwork, which runs on one AA battery (included).
