Insect Eggs on Elm Leaf Earrings

Gold & Silver Earrings

Rated 5 based on 1 customer reviews
This work explores the affects that disease or insects have on the aesthetic quality of plants, and questions objective botanical beauty. Despite looking like intentional adornment of leaves, insect eggs cause damage to the plants surface, so plants have evolved to fight back.

Hand fabricated brass leaves are textured and formed with hammers and hand tools, and "colored" with torched firescale, while bright 18k gold granules act as the insect eggs on both the front and back surfaces. Lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear.

Sterling silver earwires.
