Botanical Tile in Patina Green Glaze
Ceramic Wall Sculpture
Created by
Beth Sherman
The subtle muted glaze is reminiscent of the green color of patina that forms on aged copper. Plants and insects, with their gloriously complex forms and colors, inspire Sherman's sculptural designs. This original low-relief design is sculpted out of modeling clay. A plaster mold is made from the original design so that slip can be poured into the mold to make multiple reproductions of the original. After bisque firing the piece, she then applied low-fire glaze and re-fired it.
