Large Terracotta Vase

These colorful vessels are an inspired pairing of materials full of vibrant, earthy appeal. After the artist throws each vessel on a pottery wheel, she then adorns them with handwoven pine needle basketry using the coiling technique. These pieces are hand thrown on a potter's wheel. After the piece is fired it is finished with color and then weaved on the rim with pine needles, using the coiling technique.
