Spikey Perfume Bottle
Ceramic Perfume Bottle
Created by
Nancy Y. Adams
This eye-catching, wheel-thrown porcelain perfume bottle was crafted by artist Nancy Y. Adams, who was inspired by the hearty resilience of spiky, prickly seeds. After hand-paddling the piece in order to slightly flatten the front and back, Adams airbrushed the exterior with black matte glaze then applied a glossy red glaze, giving the "spikes" the shiny appearance of glass. Topping off this distinctive vessel is a hand-rolled stopper with hand-crafted ceramic flame forms on top, also painted to resemble glass.
