Large Jar with Bird Knob in Amber with Red Berries
Ceramic Jar
Created by
Suzanne Crane
Wheel-thrown stoneware lidded jar in an amber celadon glaze. The artist uses real branches and leaves to get a fossil-like impression in the clay that is used as a template for glazing. Small clay berries are glazed red, and the intricate, hand-pressed church key pattern is brushed with a red-iron oxide wash for contrast.
