Horsehair Raku Small Bowl II

This wheel-thrown ceramic vessel showcases the rich, earthy effects of the Raku and horsehair firing techniques. The surface is not glazed; rather, the piece is covered in several layers of terra sigillata and hand polished to a smooth finish. The artist applies iron and places real horsehair on the surface, which leave fascinating marks when the piece is fired. Signed on bottom.
