Patchwork in Glass
Art Glass Wall Sculpture
Created by
Caryn Brown
Symbolically, a patchwork quilt represents the people and experiences of our lives. Bits and pieces, joys and sorrows are joined together; each plays an important part in creating a beautiful whole. Brown embraces this symbolism in her reinterpretation of the Fence Rail Patchwork quilt as a contemporary art glass wall sculpture.
Brown creates 52 individual glass squares that are arranged in a four by thirteen pattern. The squares are fused together in the kiln, with strips of clear glass between each square, making them appear free-floating yet connected. Each piece is unique and will vary.
This sculpture is mounted to the wall using standoffs (included). It can be hung horizontally or vertically.
Limited edition of 35.
