Golden Hour

This art glass wall sculpture depicts red poppies rendered against the sky during the "Golden Hour" right before dusk, when the sun casts a warm glow as it sets. The piece was crafted entirely in glass using Anne Nye's signature "watercolor" technique, wherein frit is manipulated on a sheet of white glass then kiln-fired to a matte finish, which reduces glare and leaves the piece with a softly-textured surface. Mounted on an aluminum panel and displaying a wavy edge as a result of the artist's process, this work is signed on the back, wired and ready to hang.
