Hyacinth Parabola
Art Glass Vessel
Created by
David Patchen
This spectacular blown glass vessel was created using the challenging murrini technique. Patchen used both hot and cold glassworking processes to create this work, which is patterned with clear windows in a matrix of thousands of glass threads in hyacinth and gold. This sizable sculpture has great presence and is double-encased in clear glass for depth, optics, and stability.
Stabilized by its gently flared, satin-finished bottoms; for extra security, museum wax provides a very firm hold.
