Glace Table Lamp

A web-like pattern of black glass creates a dramatic interplay between light and dark on this statement-making fused glass light tower. Clear glass sheets are sandblasted on back for a frosted look, giving the piece a warm glow.

The artist creates the bold, organic pattern by carefully manipulating black glass powder on a kiln shelf. She then fires the kiln, causing the powder to become liquified and form the eye-catching texture. The black glass is then fused to the clear glass backing to create a textured, tactile surface.
