Seagrass Trio
Art Glass Sculpture
Created by
Michael Robinson
Robinson has found glass to be the ideal medium to express the forms found in nature. The fluid motion of wind and water and the shapes of the creatures that inhabit those realms are enduring but fragile, like the glass Robinson uses in his work. This endurance plus fragility is what Robinson endeavors to convey in his work.
This sculpture portrays a trio of tropical fish swimming through seagrass, fabricated in torch worked colored glass, its individual elements hand-formed in an open flame, then fused together into the final mesmerizing piece. Please expect some variation due to the handmade nature of the work.
