Forceps Nose Butterflyfish

This torchworked sculpture of a Forceps Nose Butterflyfish—also known in Hawaiian as the Lauwiliwilinukunukuoi'oi—is mesmerizingly lifelike, having been masterfully handcrafted by artist Robert Mickelsen to appear as lifelike as possible. It "swims" atop on glass stand that juts from its body. Each fish is sculpted freehand; no two will be exactly alike.
