Tamsin Rasor
"Jewelry is a colorful language. I want to help people tell their stories and celebrate their lives with customized personal adornment made to be as unique as they are."
Tamsin Rasor is inspired by color and classic forms with a nod to the future. Working in gold and platinum, she specializes in the use of color gemstones, allowing them to inform the design process, setting them in unexpected ways, to create highly personal pieces of jewelry that are meant to be worn and enjoyed every day.
Often using the color and form of gemstones as a starting point, Tamsin sketches her pieces, bringing them to life in the form of wax carvings or hand fabricated metal models. All pieces are then cast or handcrafted in the heart of New York City.
After gaining her BA (Hons) in design at Westminster University in London, Tamsin worked in the fashion industry and found herself moving to New York City. In 2011 she began studying goldsmithing, wax carving, setting, and gemology with master crafts people in NYC and continues to study new techniques at her metal works studio in Brooklyn, NY.
