"I believe creating beauty is an essential component of humankind. My aspiration has been to design necklaces that recreate the allure and beauty of the earth. My focus is on the formation of imitative or faux gems, stones and rocks as well as the millefiori (thousand flowers) glassmaking technique when applied to polymer clay, coupled with the addition of ceramic and metal clay beads and pendants."

Sadek's formation of imitative surfaces includes an in-depth observation of the texture, color and complexity of the actual material. She draws authenticity for her one-of-a-kind necklaces from her collection of rocks, stones, organic materials, metal and glass. Exploring the beaches and trails of Wisconsin and Michigan, has provided resources that enhance the duplication of her faux designs.

Sadek utilizes three methods in the creation of her lightweight beads and pendants. Faux polymer beads and pendants are made by imbedding mix-ins such as embossing powders, alcohol inks, and fine gravel. Imitative millefiori beads place slices of polymer clay design over a base bead. Metal clay beads and pendants are formed by placing a layer of metal clay over a core ceramic bead.

Over the past ten years, Sadek has participated in a multitude of private and group lessons combined with extensive reading and video tutorials, in order to learn the art of polymer, ceramic and metal clay. Her work with these three versatile mediums continues to excite, inspire and challenge her as she adds new techniques to her repertoire. Her home studio is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
