Ravit Kaplan

Ravit Kaplan Jewelry

"I create jewelry that is a reflection of who I am and became over time. Trained as an architect and a nature lover, I create jewelry that is inspired by tectonic forms and textures. As part of my aesthetic, I combine the two together and form little objects—sculptures that interact with our body. My designs are clean and modern, accentuating our natural beauty."

As a trained architect, Ravit is fascinated with tectonic forms, textures, and how they interact with our body. This has inspired her work to be organic yet structured with geometric forms. The circles and spheres add depth, texture, and sculptural elements to the design, while introducing asymmetrical patterns.

Ravit designs jewelry in her San Francisco studio. Each piece is entirely hand-crafted by her. She is forming her work from metal sheet, wires, and wax to create her jewelry pieces using traditional metalsmithing techniques. Forging, forming, hammering, and soldering using sterling silver, gold, bi-metal, and precious and semi-precious gemstones to add color and contrast.

From a very young age Ravit loved to draw, build, and play with different materials. She carried that passion through and became an architect and a designer. First designing clothing, theater costumes, sets, buildings, and now jewelry. After taking metalsmithing classes in San Francisco, a world of different techniques and possibilities opened up.
