Zhenwei Chu

"A triangle represents balance in our lives, whether it is in ecology or our families and careers. Each of us is a unique triangle shaped by the different aspects of life. Each of us is also a tiny part of society, making it distinctive. The relationship between individuals and society is interactional. "

Zhenwei Chu creates contemporary jewelry that is not only decoration for the body, but also a work of art in and of itself.

All of Zhenwei Chu's work is handmade. Her work explores the relationship between two- and three-dimensional forms. The different combinations of geometric shapes make them unique. Brush finishing, hammering, and diamond bur grinding create surface texture that contrasts with high-polished edges.

Zhenwei Chu studied at School of Jewellery in Birmingham, UK, and Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. She received a master's degree in metals and jewelry design from RIT, and she has participated in a variety of craft shows, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show and American Craft Show.
