Kat Cole
"I am inspired by the places I have lived. I look to the landscapes, architecture, industrial factories, and domestic spaces of my personal history--a total of eight states--to find forms, colors, textures, and materials to include in my work. For me, this creates a direct connection between art objects and the places I have called home. "
Kat Cole is a jeweler and a sculptor. The references to industrial forms, architecture, cartography, and landscape are all subtly present in her work. Cole seeks a connection to the places she has lived and uses her creative studio practice as a tool. Each piece is an insight into the journey to find "home."
