Bree Richey Designs

"My goal is to bring together minimalist shapes and a feminine aesthetic that is both highly wearable and exquisitely crafted."

Known for bringing a modern twist to classic jewelry design, Bree Richey is influenced by her Scandinavian heritage as well as her love for mid-century modern design. Crisp metal forms and expert craftsmanship are brought together seamlessly to create elegant and highly wearable jewelry.

Each piece begins as a drawing of a simple shape. Richey outlines the shape with a strip of silver sheet, creating a "wall" that adds depth to the pieceā€”a signature of her work. The "wall" is then topped by a thin sheet of silver, which is soldered and cut out to reveal the simple shape as a dimensional object.

Richey was born into a family of artists and found her own affinity for art at a young age exploring the worlds of sculpture and drawing. The daughter of jewelry designer William Richey, she spent countless hours in his home studio watching and learning the craft. She attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco with a focus on metalsmithing. She later apprenticed with jewelry designers Conni Mainne and Jayne Redman before opening her own business in 2002.
