Why Knot Bench

This extraordinary bench has been coaxed into a complex knotted form. Graceful and fluid, the "knot" belies the rigidity of the wood and the demanding techniques required to realize it. The artist is a master of vacuum press lamination and is able to transform flat plywood into dramatic and arresting curves, further defined and finished with black stained maple or walnut veneer.
