Mixed Murrini Foglio
Art Glass Sculpture
Created by
David Patchen
From Patchen's Foglio series, this flattened vessel was created through the difficult technique called murrini, which involves making highly-patterned glass ''tiles', carefully composing hundreds of them into a mosaic, then fusing them together to construct a glass bubble all before blowing the final shape. Museum Wax is recommended if added security is desired. Please note that this piece should not be displayed in direct sunlight, as the different types of glass can heat unevenly, and crack.
