John Boak

"All objects have voices and secrets. Since childhood, I have been collecting, making, painting, photographing, and assembling objects, all the while coaxing from them their songs, symbols, and secrets."

John Boak considers the world to be a rich array of physics and structure. Whether human artifice or natural creation, his images are the facets he encounters and connects with walking about in everyday life. The images have life by themselves. And in groups they also interact and delight the viewer.

John Boak was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He received a BA in fine arts from Yale University. His work has been exhibited in shows and galleries across the country. Today, he lives and works in Denver, Colorado.
